I got them from a guy down in Mississippi. He explained "I ordered them from the Motion Performance catalog around 1970 - 1971. I had always hoped I would one day have a nice Chevy where I could attach these to the sides of the cowl induction hood, so I've been carrying
them [and that pipe dream] around for some 40 years. It's time to move on..." It amazes me how much cool stuff is still hiding out there!

Does anyone know if the GM supplied SS-427 came in a box, never seen one myself? I have a NOS piece with a wire tag on it. I know Motion was big on the blister repackaging (a MR Gasket disciple) ...Love to see more of what Motion repackaged.

Is this the same emblem. I have 4 of these NOS and they have part number 7752254 on the back of them. Here is a photo of 2. Larry

The SS427 emblem is the trunk emblem used on the 1968 Impala SS 427
Motion used it on a lot of cars, even Corvettes at one time it was hard to find, but was then re-produced |

found these at a yard sale, I thought they would be the toughest piece of the puzzle.
I just need some emblems and a 427 now ![]() |
