Ken and I recently had this conversation based on an upcoming project of mine. Don't quote me but Ken listed radiator, engine, transmission, wiring, computer, oil pan, gauges, trans and engine mounts, driveshaft, fuel tank, pump and lines, cooling fan and several incidentals and I think we ended up being somewhere between $12-17k total installed if I recall correctly. Power steering and A/C were extra add ons.

Great question....this would be a combined price of the engine, trans, driveshaft, wiring harness, fuel tank mods, etc. etc. a complete LS conversion.

No labor price.

$12-13K using all brand new components from GM in their Connect and Cruise Kit (with Warranty).......LS3.....480 H.P......4L70E transmission....Torque Converter....Harnesses, Modules, DBW pedal, sensors...Etc......A good Radiator and fans $600-900 dollars.....Gas Tank and pump...$600-$1500.....That would be the basic package not including Exhaust $600-800......Like anything you can cheap out on parts ......then do it the correct way later and spending all the money you saved the first time around doing it the correct "Quality" way the second time......The one thing I have learned over the last couple of years is that I can't afford the "Cheap" stuff.....LOL.....Then again if you are upgrading the drivetrain on an old car.....that's just the start......Brakes...A/C.....Suspension ,....Etc......
But......I've been there with the mid sixties Muscle car scene........But......Those cars are then, and these are now......No Comparison (If you want to actually drive them).........Just remember.....This all started because of Charley........He was way ahead of the curve...I remember on the first Power Tour we did in 05 from Milwaukee to Orlando.......driving my stock 66 SS 396 Chevelle without overdrive trying to keep up with everyone on the highway at 4000 RPM..........LOL.....

It took me a couple install issues to figure out that the "cheap" stuff does end up costing more. "Close enough" isn't "good enough" for me. Neat project!

One week of just a couple hours a day........Here we are......Got the air intake system completed.....Had to find a new spot to mount the Power Steering reservoir as the inlet tube needed the space.....Got that resolved......hooked up the starter wires and spun the engine over.....Ordered fittings for the transmission cooler lines where they come out of the trans........Wanted to get that completed, but.....I guess I ordered the wrong fittings as they didn't fit........Darn.....We also got the correct Serpentine belt installed along with the Radiator.........Also got the gas pedal installed and plugged in...Getting closer.....
