I agree, great idea. Not wanting to be a "Davey Downer" but I think this will work better without having posts asking for searches on a specific VIN. That might lead to a bombardment of requests. Other sites (I think most of us know who) have dedicated sections to orphans that are divided by year of manufacture. Each thread shows the description and VIN, but not pictures which do eat up some valuable real estate. Sorry if this has already been discussed here, but I really do appreciate the time and effort some of the members invest in helping the hobby.

For now the best thing is to post up engine and trans vins. If a photo can be added then great. Until this becomes more involved then it will stay a single sticky thread. I hope to at some point to see this evolve into having its own section on the site. I also agree that people should reframe from posting requests.

One reason to not post engine pad pics is that it is like a directory on which characters to use to restamp a block.

I think it's a good idea to remove the pics, and leave VIN and contact info or link....
