Definitely some old posts back to 2009. But Good Alternative options mentioned here for air filters. Especially given it will never be seen inside the plenum. CP is a great Conversation piece anytime the hood is open

I tried Heartbeat's and it's the same as the parts stores AC Delco A697C 8997189. It's roughly 7/16 too tall. Didn't take it back and couldn't locate anything that would work so cut it down and used windshield urethane to bond the rubber seal down to the element. Actually works and looks good but rather spend an hour elsewhere.

May I ask what you tried it in? Meaning a Chevelle unit. Or Camaro??

It's on a Chevelle. Tried the Wix 46948R but it's too short but might use it next time with a spacer.

Yes- Correct

I "JUST" tried a New ACDELCO A697X in My NKR Camaro CP (Cowl Plenum) unit with a 16-3/4" diameter lid without any rubber gasket designed and the New filter was to tall. (Bummer)

NKR supplied a WIX 46948R with a rubber compression tube glued to the bottom.
