Concerning the Orange Z/28 - the stripes are wrong because they should be white not black. Also, where is the antenna? [/ QUOTE ] Are you saying that because you know there were no black striped hugger Z's or because you know the numbers on this car and the black doesn't match? |

While I am no Z/28 expert I can't see anything wrong with that car. What exactly are you referring to, I'd like to know so I can be more educated on first generation Z's. [/ QUOTE ] I am Looking at the stripes on the trunk, It says its a D80 so there should not be any, There is no Antenna for radio that I can see, I believe the alternator should be lower and to left more, does it have the right bracket?(Im not positive about that)and without a black vinyl roof should the stripes be white?...This is an awesome car, somebody did a nice job on it ![]() Sam

Sam I missed the "D-80 spoilers" refrence... I wonder if it's a D80 car would be too late for chambered exhaust?
As for black stripes is there a pattern, hugger gets white stripes unless it got a black vinyl top? I also understand the space saver spare was not available with Z/28 or JL8 in '69... I also feel this is a beautiful car, the web page doesn't say any of the options listed came with the car. They are there now and listed though. My guess is it will someday be for sale and passed off as "all options came with the car". |

It's an April/May car and that's just about when the chambered exhaust was cancelled. Without more detail like the trim tag, it's tough to tell what options were added to the car. The chambered exhaust probably was added during the restoration. If it has the D80 on the trim tag then the stripes shouldn't be on the trunk lid under the spoiler. I thought that Hugger Orange cars got white stripes unless it had a black vinyl top, then it got black stripes. But I'm not 100% sure that is true. CRG should have better info on that. It's a nice car, but makes you wonder about what options are original to the car.

I believe the "D80" started showing beginning with the 05D cars.

[/ QUOTE ] Dennis, a few other guys have answered this. Black stripes only with Black vinyl top, otherwise it was white stripes.
