I'll chime in with my .02 which will probably be unpopular but here goes..

I can't for the life of me understand why people are more afraid of making a mistake in other people eyes than having the life they want for themselves. In other words, if you like the car and have the cash to buy it, who cares what anyone else thinks or even whether or not it's a good deal? Cars are not investments, they are toys!!!! If you bought the car and ended up selling it in 3 years for 6k less than you paid..big freakin deal! So it cost you 2K a year to have what you want. Those that would call you stupid probably spend more than that each year for less enjoyment.

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Good luck whatever you decide

Car sold for $27,607.00. If you look at the bid history it appears that there was a bit of a bidding war going on; glad I didn't get caught up in that. I want to thank everyone for their input; you guys rock and really know your stuff.
One day I'll get another collector car I just have to try and be patient..............but not too patient.

Sweet car. I always liked the Cougars over the Mustangs. My uncle had a 68 with a 289.
