Re: Need a value for a 68 Z/28.
Thanks for the honest opinions.
Thanks for the PM's I received. I wish I had seen your car Paul, that is one I would have wanted. This is exactly what I had thought. I offered $37K for the car a year ago. No deal, just started getting anxious again. I think I am trying to talk myself into this, when really I should just trust my initial instinct. As always the wife is right again. |

Re: Need a value for a 68 Z/28.
Jeff,
You are in the same boat I've found myself in several times where you're trying to talk yourself into something that is a pretty cool find but not a great investment based on the price. When I started looking for my 68 several years ago, I talked to Jerry M. and told him I wanted a car with documentation. He told me that I would severly limit my choices of some really nice vehicles. He's right, but when my wife and I discussed spending the amount of money we decided on spending, we wanted an investment quality car or a car that had the building blocks of being investment quality. Don't know your situation but that was ours. On 68 Z's, if you look at cars that have come up for sale, no docs seem to really hurt the value. A red on red 68 was mentioned in an earlier post. If it's the same car I'm thinking of, it was posted on EBay at least two times and never made reserve. Looked like a really nice car too. Beside docs on 68s, it even looks like the lack of docs even hurt the value of 69 Zs that even have trim designation X77, X33. Might be wrong about that, but that's the way it seems. Paul |
