2 months later, I'd tell him to pound salt. Sounds like he's trying to put one over on ya.

I would drag it out another month....after that time it's too late for him to leave you negative feedback Then tell him "Sorry, Charlie"

Even though it has been two months, I'd suggest calling UPS to file a claim. Although there's lots of supposition here about what the buyer MAY have done, you're not sure of anything other than it worked when you sent it and now it doesn't. It MAY have been damaged in shipment, and by contacting UPS you're showing good faith to the buyer.

If UPS says it's too late to file a claim, THEN you should tell the seller that his complaint fell outside the insurance window, and that's what he paid shipping w/insurance for. You can't give a 'lifetime' warranty.

Put yourself in the buyer's shoes -- if you were him, what would you want the seller to do at this point?

Depending on what the repair bill is, UPS may be willing to pay the repair, rather than the cost of the item (or whatever you insured it for). I've gone the repair route with UPS before with satisfactory results.

Good luck, BCD.

That sounds good to me too. I already asked the buyer if he had the box I shipped the items in. He said he threw it away. I hope they will insure it without packaging.

nope- and they will if you get that far send a person out to his place to inspect the box / packing to make sure it was packed right in the first place, I did that and they still would not pay for damage even though we agreed it looked like it was packed pretty good even with pics, some desk boss tossed my claim and said see ya,it was not packed right, next time pay us to box it was his advice, best you can do is fake the packing and box, but then that carma thing comes into play. dont look good anyway you slice it at this point.

I had the sender for the tach and tested it before I sold it. The tach worked well

Jason, I think a lot of us are overlooking the above statement in your original post. You shipped a working item. The buyer or his shop that he hired out took two months to test this. Why ???? This really smells like dead fish that have been on an intake manifold for a week.

my 2 cents,
I had the same problem with 69 camaro console gauges I sold on ebay and was told they worked when I purchased box finds of stuff but the buyer said all the gauges were no good, what to do I paid for 2 new repop gauges and he paid for 2 repop gauges and now the problem is gone and again my 2 cents only is pay for half of the repair bill and remove that stress from your life.
