18k original paint L78 conv [/ QUOTE ] Does the Olympic Gold Vert have custom interior ? Do you know any history on that car ? Some years back a friend around hear had such a ride for a few years. It was around Cuyhoga Falls Ohio for years before it was purchaced by him, Later he sold it in Hemmings for around 49K. After that it went thru the Circus @ BJ for 92K, any of the sound familiar ? My not be the same car, but how many Gold L78 verts were there ? Just curious, and thanks. Mike A |

-----Mike,,,I remember that Camaro. Saw it at Quaker City one year (92/3/4ish) at those old "Field of Dreams" meets that they used to feature Red Alert at. That Camaro was awsome. Tried unsuccessfully to buy it all day at the car show along with several other people similarly inclined. I think Grady was there that day with his COPO Chevelle as well. These cars sure do get around, dont they???............Bill S

John, looks like a fun day in Chicago. By the way, the black '69 Corvette is alive and well in Austin. You did a nice job on it and it drives great. I'll continue working on it, too.

Hey Mike - think this is what you were referring to....
"Unrestored original. 19,830 actual miles with protect-o-plate. Code 65 olympic gold, Z-87 custom black trim. "Rare" L78, 375 hp Turbo-Jet. 396 V-8, M21 close ratio 4-speed transmisson, G80 posi-traction axle. D80 spoiler front and rear. A01 soft-ray tinted glass. B93 door edge guards. C05 black convertible top. D55 center console. U17 special instrumentation (includes gauges, clock, tachometer). N34 sport style wood wheel. N40 power steering. J52 power disc brakes. U63 AM push-button radio. V80 rear seat speaker. Z69 auxiliary lighting. Copy of original stamped Ohio title through 1987. Inspection will disclose all factory flaws at production. A very "rare" combination." I recalled seeing this car at BJ in '03. You'll need to enter: CHEVEROLET - CAMARO - 1969 - in their search engine, and you will see lot 755. Was mesmerized like all others checking it out. $90K was strong money "way back" then. ![]()

Yes as Darren says that is the same car it was bought at BJ I believe 4 years ago. The guy we bought it from had bought it out of Hemmings from the guy in Ohio. It really is a unbelievable original car.
