I'm w/ you on this one Verne...just a sweet way of saying restamp and clouding the truth from those who don't know what it really means.. Most surprising to me is who I've seen on this site refering to them as Ok?.

So where's the pics from...and is that a one of none '70 2dr. Sedan behind the '62?.

That dual quad Mystery Motor intake manifold that Verne posted is a work of art. Probably the only one ever made and worth it's weight in gold. Just think of the implications of that piece being developed. NASCAR had a single 4-BBL rule so that means the Mystery Motor was going to start appearing in drag cars. Maybe even street cars. Then the 1963 GM racing ban went into effect and all was lost. You know, Smokey was a big fan of the Mystery motor and claimed it was an engineering marvel and easily capable of 2HP per CID. He was not impressed in 1965 when the modern MKIV debuted and the ports were moved around to accomodate head bolts out of convenience. A real shame.

Pete, Photos were taken at Roger Sortino's place in Washington State during a get-together he had to view a '63 Biscayne he built for the MM. The Impala was a Sport Coupe. Just a super nice low mileage day-1 original.

Mark, You have your history accurate. There may have been 2 of those 2x4 intakes cast by Winters, which does indicate a possible intention by Chevy to continue it's drag race program (following the Z-11). There was supposedly some reference printed (possibly in a Roger Huntington magazine editorial) which stated Chevy's intention and that the option was to be called Z-33. Roger created the car that "could have been" just for the fun of it. (although I think he should have used an Impala).
Here are a couple more shots I took.

PS: Roger is also the owner of the Terry Prince & Frank Sanders Z-11s that I posted photos of on the York Reunion thread.

Now would that motor be using 3361 and 3362 Carters or something else?

Those 2 Carters were the only 2x4 configuration Chevy had at the time, so it would seem probable that's what was used. The Z-11s used them too.

Yep, I have some more of the car and the gathering, but at this point I think I'd like to ask Roger before I post more.....
