Hey Eddie...It's a 1300cc engine. I'm not sure...but I think it's between 150 and 160. They limited the engines to around 187 mph...in 1999...they "new" model went 203.

You guys ever watched Ghost Rider run one of them tricked Busa's...dude is pulling power wheelies at over 150.....

Yeah I did it was wicked fast

My brother and I built a turboed Kz1OOO it was not as fast we only got it up to 150mph with no fairing it made it kinda hard to hang on but the acceration was pretty wicked

the north shop built a '80 KZ1000 into a turbo bike..it made 150mph plus but was a handful to get slowed back down on the factory brakes, my Uncle and I turned a bunch of '79 Daytona Special RD-400's into wicked bikes, big bored them with zero miles and threw the DG Book at them, now that was a way fun bike around town! man good times building and thrashing new bikes like ya stole them.,lol.

thats funny you said that Eddie after I posted I started thinking wasnt that the first year of the Z1R's???.. man that was awhile ago, the bike was black, I was only 16 and living life in the fast lane

the first year was 1978 we had two of those I think they were made for two years 78&80, my brother still has his its locked up solid to.if I remember right it has the 1200 bore kit,ported with bigger valves it was a runner to but the trans sure gave trouble
Yeah those were good times for me to I'm kinda glad they didn't have those busas I know we would have had to seen what top speed would have been lol
