I think the poster read the car description and assumed that since the radiator support was replaced that it had front end damage at some point. What they failed to read was the fact that it says it has all of its original sheetmetal. There are several things that could lead to replacement of the radiator support, such as rust from a battery, etc.

Didnt mean to offend anybody !! I wasnt accusing the car of damage but I read it like it had front end damage..(Core Support)
I AM NOT BASHING THIS CAR !! Just ? how that was replaced. Feature car says: The car retains all the original drive train, and the block is the only thing that's not the same as its a CE block. The interior is all original, also, as is the sheet metal. Just the core support was changed." This is one of the Great ZL1's to own but didnt understand how they changed the support without something happening !!

The core support was rusted pretty bad underneath the radiator so I changed it.Everything under the car was rusty and the first thing I did when I got it home was clean it up underneath and painted.
The sub frame and axle show pits from rusting but I didn't want to change everything cause its what the car was born with. And feel free to point things out,no offense taken here ![]()

Most people dont mention these things.
I have rep a lot of cars and the things people have a tendency to forget to mention about their car, until the car is inspected. This is a great car,I would Rep this car at anytime if ever asked. ![]()

Eddie, If you don't mind . . . I would like to hear more about how you learned about the ZL-1's in 1976 and what was your brothers first reaction when you asked him to drive the 6,000 miles to pick-up your new car? What a great story!

Not many people have a great story like that and still be the owner for over 30 years.

My brother and I were at the shop and he was looking through the hot cars mag that you see the ad in and he tells me hey here's a camaro like mine(he had a 69 ss L78 m22 camaro)I looked at the ad and wondered where it was so I went to the house and got my sister inlaw to call the number she told me it was in New york I went back out and told my brother heck its in New York he says so! I says you mean you'd go with me to get it? he says yeah if nobody else will go I'll go so after a few more calls out east we came to a price and I can't remember the price exactly I want to say it was $5900 all I really remember is when we got back there he says for $800 more he would give us a bill of sale for less cause of taxes in calif when we went to register it and we agreed to it but he had to trust us to send the money when we got back cause we didn't have it with us.I know it might be hard to understand but it was all a blur to me I sure do wish I would have wrote everything down back then but $6800 seems to be what it ended up costing.
Me being 18 and my brother 28 and already been pretty much all over the country by then it was me that was surprised that he would go ![]()

I remember when you first told me this story. I cannot fathom driving from California to New York and back for a car especially in the 70's. That must have been one hell of a ride. The scariest part is trusting someone back then to not sell the car out from under you while you were on your way. Great story!
