A little bit off the track, but....anyone have any MPG estimate or figures for a 69 Nova with 250 cylinder..?? these L78's are getting to expensive to feed thinking about some engine swaps for the summer...

Tom let me find you a real cherry California car for you and we could swap one of your fuel wasting L-78 cars for it. I saw deisal for $3.98 a gallon yesterday, I bet $4.00 a gallon gasoline is not to far away.

I have visions of a older midget Sesco 4 cylinder engine in this thing.

You are probably right about $4/gal by summer...those OPEC boys are laughing all the way to the bank.

I can only wish it was 4.00. $5.47 this morning for regular. I even notice it now using the snow blower. Yes our gallon is different but even when we compare the same volume is is way over 4.00

That car will have a fat motor in it within a week after the car is delivered.

Wilma,

My first car was a 69 Nova, 250/2 SPD. I rebuilt the carb and got 22 MPG highway and around 18 in the city.

I know a guy in Westchester, 10 yrs ago had a 70 Nova with a Diesel in it for his NYC daily commuter -- I'll stop by and see if he still has it.
