Re: Edman Lis' 1963 Impala SS Convertible
Ed,
I will pm you with other details. From what I've seen so far, I would like to visit the car in person and document it FULLY with your permission (at my own expense). Maybe we can arrange something when the car is available for an "interview". Verne |

Verne:
I don't understand who you are and why or for what reason you want to document my car. I thought that I was being accomodating answering your questions and I sent a bunch of pictures to Bruce based on your questions. You then write that you will come and document my car "at your expense"? Should I have to pay? Am I missing something here? This isn't ebay. I thought I was just sharing my beautiful 63 Convertible with other enthusiasts that would find it interesting. The car is not for sale. I thought this was Member's Rides. Again, am I missing something or is this some kind of new guy initiation? Ed

Re: Edman Lis' 1963 Impala SS Convertible
Yes you are missing something. Verne has been documenting these cars for an eternity with the New Jersey Late Great Chevy club.He is not looking to tell you if its real or not. He has a database with tons of information about these cars all drerived by his own hard work and looking at original cars. He has documented as many original cars for so many years that he helps people determine authenticity of these late great years.Cars like yours help greatly in verifying information that exists and helps if anything new pops up on the screen with these cars. The fact that he would want to come see your 63 is a compliment and a testament to it. Its a great car. When no Chevrolet paperwork exists...its good to know there are people that have worked a good portion of their life travelling all over the place looking at original cars, paperworked cars and noting which plant did what...how different plants coded things and grease penciled firewalls etc. Maybe your partner the professor has heard about ole Verne. Most people that have been involved with these year cars have heard of him. He was close friends with Moses !!!

Re: Edman Lis' 1963 Impala SS Convertible
Ed, please understand that Verne has a passion for these cars and I think his enthusiasm was misinterpreted. This is rare opportunity to gain valuable knowledge from a benchmark car, and Verne is a true 409 historian who love to document and share his information. Man I love that car!!!!
