Greg I know your pain I lost my Dalmatian, three years ago your picture bring it all back It Felt like some one just riped my heart out had him as a puppy he was 13 years old
The night before he keept me up all night every time he had to go out to piee he whould lift his leg next to a tree for 5 or more Minutes but noting would come out went to the vet the next day and they thought it was kideny stones but it ended up he had canser it ended up he died in my arms
It took some time to get over the pain and sometimes it still hurts and to this day I still blame myself was there something that I missed weeks before that could have saved him
dogs are like our kidds they are part of the family

Can't sleep, really hurts to think of her gone now. Found this picture of her taken in '04 before we moved to Idaho. She was still very playful then at 12 1/2 years old. They really are part of us and our lives.

A Pet's Prayer

To you who fills my life with joy and in whom I have placed my trust.

I ask for but a few kindnesses. Count me as a member of the family, feeding me when I am hungry.

And giving me a warm and comfortable place to sleep.

Keep me safe from harm so I will have no cause of fear and tenderly care for me when I am sick.

Let me know by your voice and touch that you love me, for your love is what sustains me.

Find time to play with me and time to let me lie quietly by your side.

And when I grow old and my days are few, comfort me,treat me gently and humanely and please don't let me suffer loneliness, indignities or pain.

And when I have gone, think of me and of the friendship and happiness we have shared.

Do not be sad, smile at the memories.

And share with me the ultimate peace I have found in knowing and loving you.

Sorry for your loss; our pure breed siamese recently passed away;never though I would get so attached to a cat.but Pepper had 17 great years with you.Like my one of my buddy says;that's the only problem;the owners usually outlive the animals.chris

So very sorry for your loss.

I've said this a thousand times; mankind could learn a lot about love & loyalty from a dog.

Any animal that spends any amount of time with you becomes a part of the family. Our cat(who we rescued at 7 years old) passed away at 18 years old a few years ago. She died in my arms.

Sorry on the loss of one of your family members, Greg.

I've been through this more times than I care to recall. Most recently, the week after Spring VetteFest we lost our female Husky at just over 14 years. And the one before her was put down at home. We have a great Vet.
All of our 'friends' have been much more than pets; truly members of the family. We're down to one now and she's terribly spoiled. Just last night she was on the couch beside me watching Indiana Jones, and lies by my feet at this moment. You can't buy love and dedication like this.

My sincere condolences.

Sorry to hear of your loss Greg. Non pet owners will never understand what we go through with our "kids" and the pain we feel when they leave us. I would never be without one and the love they provide pales in comparison to the loss we feel when they are gone.

Our condolences. I'm partial to "fire dogs". Just in passing. My wife,"the first lady" makes ceramic ash urns for pets, and occasionally people. Her e mail is [email protected]. Or mine at [email protected].
