Hey Dennis. I bought a 68 Yenko from Dennis years ago. Dennis, the stainless molding you can see below the door on the orange 69 Camaro in the background is what he is talking about. It came on all 69 Camaro's no matter what trim level.

Whatever you want to call it-the thin stainless strip the runs just under the doors-is standard equipment on even base models. You car is missing it.

It is a beautiful car, and I believe that having the original owner's info is the best! Too many docs are faked these days. The POP comment was not meant to be critical - just interesting for the community (me in particular) to learn from. For example, doesn't the POP build date say "7"?

Hello, sorry to bother you but the photo of the blue Chevelle on your id, did that car used to belong to David Bonn, maybe not spelled Bonn correctly? Thanks, Dennis

Hey, that is what I thought he meant and I understand for sure. Just looking at old photos in Jerry MacNeish's book quite a few COPO's have no rocker chrome. We bought this car with original paint and it had no rocker chrome, just dont know what to say, haha! Good to hear from you my friend!! Keep in touch Charley please!! Dennis

Isn't that a "7" (JULY) on the POP build date? and a May build on the TT?

Hey, Yes the POP has a 7 and this is the original POP that came out of the glove box with the other papers when we bought the car in 87. We were always getting POP's late for the new owner when we were dealers and we were always always getting stuff stamped wrong or as we say today it would be wrong, haha! We actually had to send some back to the factory to have some corrected also. Car was sold new on June 2nd,69 and was actually titled on June 30th,69. Build date on car is May 1st week as per cowl tag and the vin matches up perfect. Thanks, Dennis

Just for clarification all 69 camaros came with the rocker molding/spears, regardless of trim level. Why this car"never" came with them is an anomaly. I'm wondering if it had the holes for the moldings.

Welcome to the site Dennis, its been a while since we spoke.

Hey Hey Steve, Good to hear from you!! Hope all is well and I hope you and your family have great Holidays!!! You are right as 69 Camaros were supposed to have the rocker moldings! When we were GM dealers we actually got in quite a few that did not have them, but that was always on a plain jane car so I always thought that was just a trim option piece. I tell ya we used to get in lots and lots of new GMC trucks with Chevrolet tailgates ( yes the whole tailgate, haha ) Chevy horn buttons, and the most funny part, they would have a Chevy Silverado Emblem on one fender and GMC Sierra Classic Emblem on the other fender! If you restored one of those today people would say that's nuts,HAHAHA!! This car had no holes so again just weird. Thanks for the welcome and take care my friend!! Dennis

Roger Dean used a die cast badge. Here is a shot on my 68 for ref.

They sold a lot of Hi-Po cars esp Corvettes. I know of 4 69 C.O.P.O's from Dean and have heard about a ZL-1 that was possibly in the showroom also.
