Easy to ignore the Motion foolishness but doesn't more homework need to be done before discounting the Reedman paperwork, especially if the Pop belongs w/ it! Again are the tags original to the car, is the Pop genuine, are the sheet dates reasonable and most of all which matches what closer inspection of the car may reveal? If someone's serious about the car, Ncrs providing the dealer code is probably the best thing to confirm 1'st! ~ Pete </div></div> Pete - I wholeheartedly agree, more research needs to be conducted. The NCRS paper is a great start, however, the paperwork displays where the car was shipped to, not necessarily where it was sold from. My ’66 Coupe was a dealer swap. This was confirmed by the P-o-P dealer not matching the NCRS report. The NCRS also has a document validation service which for $40 is a good piece of documentation to have. Also included in the $40 is the NCRS shipper report. Pending an inspection, this car has potential.

Tom O'Grady is a good friend, I'll see him in Frisco. That is a beautiful car you sold him, one of the first Corvettes to get the Benchmark award.

Tim,
I purchased that car from a customer in 1986. I always new it was an original example, but if it was not for Howard & Robin Winan @ Harmony Corvette, I probably would have drove it way to much. Those 2 where the driving force in me showing the car. It took Bloomington Gold 3 years before I was automaticly allowed into Certification after being on the waiting list for 2 years. Conveniently that was the first year for Survivor (1990) so I showed in in both. The next year they used my car, & 2 others to form the Benchmark award, saving what I believe many cars from being otherwise restored when not needed. When you see Tom, tell him I say hello, and which him well. Do you know if he ever went through the NCRS National Top Flight, Duntov, or 5 Star Bowtie process with it? I sure would like to find out. Let me know if he did. Thanks, Bill |

I believe the NCRS has a certification program for original paperwork now for these cars. I have had it done a couple of times. Looking at the tank sticker it appears to have the info for them to do it. It is a nominal fee. This would help clear some things up. You need to be a member to get it done.
Daniel already mentioned it above.

Bill, I'm not sure what level Tom has taken the car to. I've seen it judged at NCRS, so I know it is a Top Flight Vehicle. I also know he's removed the side pipes even though they were put on at the dealership if I remember.

Tim,
After the Bloomington Gold, Survivor, & Benchmark, I won a regional Top Flight with it when I owned it in Galena Illinois back in 1991. Joe Croft, the second owner, told me he installed the side pipes him self in 1969. I met him when he came to my house back in 1993 and took him for a "Ride" in the car. He then said he thought he still had the original rocker mouldings, fender extentions he had to cut off, and the Lynndale Blue, rear, non-side pipe valance in his parents garage back in Potts Town Pa (car sold new in Paoli Pa.). He said he would call me if he found them. A week later a crate shows up to my shop with EVERYTHING in it, all wrapped in blankets. I called him to see what I owed him, and he said the "Ride" was payment enough. Bill |

A Baldwin rear sticker shouldn't even be put on a dealer possible transfer car , which I don't believe this is.
