When I ran the nova back in the early 70's I had 2 breathers in each VC. We welded 2 oil tube pipe in each VC with a press on breather on each. No PCV. When I put the car back on the street I ran the PCV set up and one of those GM spark arrestors in each VC.
Got that spark arrestor idea from Jenkins. He had them on his Vega.
They are good to use today for a clean breather setup.

Sam,
The Distributor is a RevPole Double Life ...meaning its a 4 Cam dual point with 20 - 24 ° Mechanical Advance.....Converted to a Pertronix Phase II full electronic ignition.(Transistor Ignition) just as a ZL1 K66. Hence the use of the Super CD & K66 Voltage regulator. I do have to add a seperate Rev limiter . . .which will allow shifing the trans at the desired RPM on the . Transmission is a early 70's Doug NashPro Shitfed M22 with. 2:52 first gear, 4:10's .

I did notice Tom had a block without provisions for a rear vent. It'll need to be vented in order to be driven much. You can drill the intake in the back and run pcv out of it, use the Vette oil fill tube with pcv and a breather on top of tube instead of twist on cap or you can run an Electic fuel pump and vent the crankcase through a fuel pump block off with a vent tube. I personally prefer valve cover breathers and use them up front so the fan blows air across them and use pcv on the rear of the valve cover. It's hard to cut up NOS parts but if your gonna cruise you have to sacrifice somewhere.

Day 2 and already drilled for PCV. Use the fill tube with a breather cap. Problem solved.

I missed the staggered hole part just looking quick. No wonder the price is reasonable.... Not much use to anyone with a SBC built after '59.
