Seller posted updated pics of engine assembly stamp. Makes me fall out of love with it. I do like the engine vin stamp though - don't know what to think now. Experts?

Is it possible that this was a 396 car that had the engine restamped to reflect a COPO? However, it sounds like there are some people who can vouch for its authenticity.
