There happens to be one for sale in Hemmings right now...doesn't say if it's a 435 horse car but they are very cool if not a little different.

Very good question, 69SS396!
Since this is a clone car, the answer is, there is nothing wrong with it!
I think the blue interior makes it obvious to those "in the know" that the car is a clone, as all known "real" 1969 COPO Yenkos had a black interior. Just as Rat Pack mentioned he built a clone, which had Hugger Orange paint on a Butternut Yellow paint code car. In both cases, the car would obviously be not what it appeared to be at first glance. I believe there is a red '69 Yenko clone recently discussed that fits the same category, since Yenko is not believed to have ordered any red COPO cars in '69.
While it would certainly be challenging to build a clone exact in every detail, I believe these are the cars which are more likely to be misrepresented after changing hands once or twice. I think a clone with an impossible trim tag (how about a Van Nuys Yenko?) makes a fun tribute that is not likely to fool anyone who is serious.
jmho, and I hope I got my facts straight,
-Sam

CWilliams.....exactly my point. Not too many unrestored Yenkos available for $1500!!! So the starting point is different.

On the Garnet Yenko. Stefano, jump in Any chance that any Douglas Yenkos were Garnet Red?

Hey Marlin, is that red Yenko still in the Lancaster area? I saw it in the showroom of a classic car dealer a couple of years ago. I think it was just of rt 30.

There is also a gold 1969 yenko camaro near me that is now painted red. Owner did not like the color! He will not sell. He must be a relative of the guy in WI.!!

I'm not sure, the red yenko that I'm referring to is not in Lancaster, so it could be a different one.
