Look like the SS wheels are reproductions that are wider than 7", or else the rings are just incorrect, letting too much of the wheel rim stick out, but I think its a combination of both.

I guess i am just bothered that no where in the description does it say that the buildsheet is a repo.
"You will have to look long and hard to find a numbers matching car in this kind of condition. This Chevelle is documented with a Build Sheet and Protecto Plate and still retains it's matching number engine and rear quarters." They just don't come any nicer than this! |

Looks like someone took a can of black spray paint and went hog wild on the underneath of the car and suspension.

On my Camaro's POP, it has a "4" for April 69 build date under the "H" for Holley Carburetor. Did they use an "N" to denote an October 69 build date for a 70 car?

[ QUOTE ]
I guess i am just bothered that no where in the description does it say that the buildsheet is a repo. [/ QUOTE ] I'm with you 67, the ebay auction sure makes it look as if that sheet is being used to "document" the car in question, and it's even referred to as the "original factory buildsheet" in the listing. It could be an innocent "mistake" as the seller replied, but the fact that no effort has been made to clarify this with a revision of the auction description even after it's been brought to the seller's attention makes me think it's more of a "yeah you caught me and I'm not gonna BS you now that I know you know what you're looking at" kinda deal. What's the legitmate excuse for presenting a "replica buildsheet" with a car for sale anyway? I can understand a replica window sticker is sort of neat taped in the window for that brand new day one look, but a replica buildsheet isn't really good for anything other than trying to make it look like a car was equipped from the factory in some particular configuration, in this case likely a configuration that was in some way more desireable than the way the car was actually built originally. Please understand I don't know the seller or wish to incinuate anything about him or the car, I'd just say that in this instance there is enough questionable documentation being presented with the car that it should be THOROUGHLY inspected IN PERSON before laying out any $. Again, not bashing the car, just saying buyer beware here. |

Yes..They used the letter "0" for October,"N" for November & "D" for December. They ran out when using numbers 1-9.
That is a November VIN#,on an October 31st started assembly car. Just a Note Carmen, that CW rear is a 3:31 NON posi,he never says it is a Posi in the auction, but I just wanted to bring that up. The Tape should Have GM printed on it,but it is also possible to have an authentic P-O-P that used a generic label maker tape,as we have seen in the past. What I can't see in the recent P-O-P picture you posted is the word, Addressograph on the side of that metal plate. There are repops out there that do look exactly like the one you just showed, missing this. Here is a genuine P-O-P I have here as an example. ![]() |

Well I guess tarnish proves it is real?
"THE PROTECTO PLATE IS NOT A REPO. IT IS STILL ATTACHED TO THE WARRANTY BOOKLET AND THE METAL SHOWS SOME TARNISH. THANKS. JIM" |
