It's on Saturday nights.
Downers Grove was REALLY busy, this last Friday night.Probably because the week prior it was cancelled due to Main St. having it's pedwalks reconstructed,so everyone was a bit anxious this week.

Lombard was "Officially" over last weekend, but they are hosting two more Saturday night cruises on Sept. 8 & 15th.
Last Saturday was not a cruise night, and supposed to be all over,so I was skeptical as to what would show.We showed up at 4:00 and found car after car idling in.Alot of tri-5's especially...
By 6:00 it had almost filled up,and we ended up staying until 9:00.I didn't bring my camera, but wish I did as there was some incredible iron showing up.The weather was F****** perfect!
No wind, cloud or insect in the vicinity. My Chevelle felt like it wanted to go 110mph the whole way there, while never reaching the 195 degree mark.
I saw cars pulling in I haven't seen all summer.
My friend took a few pix of me,and she emailed them over.
It really turned out to be a great evening of cars & group of people pulling in,even as we were pulling away later on.

A guy with a silver 1968 Corvette pulled up right behind me with a for sale sign on it for $26,500.00.He and his Mrs. went away to eat dinner for 3 hours.I had someone ask me every 15 minutes about his corvette.I just told them to wait around or write down his phone number and call him later on.
He musta had 6 seperate buyers want that corvette.
It was nice!

Rick,

"even as we were pulling away later on."

Who are you referring too? Did you actually bring someone...a passenger? Or is "we" you and the Chevelle?

Dan.

That black '65 Chevelle is really tough. I do believe that I see wheel rim screws in those rear 5-spokes. Tough to get a good-sized tire under the rear of one of those cars.
