I was just thinking that Don was cheapin out by not opting for emblems if he didn't have to. He would however add his name anywhere he could!

You'll have to remind me Joey, but are these badges roughly the same size as the engine call outs? Or bigger/smaller??

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny you should ask... I wondered that myself and just went out to check... Turns out they are darn near identical in size to a "350" fender badge.. and they affix with 2 sided tape, just like the Yenko badges for 70. Incidently, they were also packaged in a clear baggie with 2 badges per baggie. So are ya startin' to feel what I'm layin' down? Yenko issued LT-1 badges, packaged 2 per bag, and identical in size to the factory 350 callouts that Don probably wasn't expecting to be there...hmmm....

Sounds logical to me, and that's the best reason I've heard so far.

...and btw, I've never "hawked", sold or traded one of these ever, or even attempted to. I think I have 6 of 'em in my collection, all with similar stories behind them, linking them to Yenko/Deuces. I just thought they were an intriguing part of Yenko history that not many seem to know anything about, and might appriciate seeing once every 4 years or so.

See? The original Deuce owners are already starting to wake up and take notice...

Post up some pics of that backwards striped Deuce.

Neat story behind the emblems but Don sure could have tried a little harder to make them stand out. I think those would have been great with a much larger "LT-1" chrome letter. They almost look home made. I think your reasoning behind why they were made and never installed is a likely one.

Sorry, didn't mean 'hawked' in the sense of trying to sell 'em, but that we've been kickin around with them trying to figure out the application! I know you've never tried to sell 'em, 'cause I would've bought a pair!

One story I heard a looong time ago was that they were a motion item for the vegas, but that didn't quite make sense when we found out that a set was found in the glovebox of a Deuce.

I think the fender application sounds quite plausible. Are they in the parts catalog?

No, but I do know there were a few dozen sets produced (at least)
