Why so much fuel pressure?

I'll be interested to what you have to say Eric. I run around wiht about 9 psi on the street and crank it up to 11 while at the track to make sure the dual quads are fed.

Not criticizing, just curious. I've always ran ~6.5-7 lbs and never had an issue as long as that pressure could be maintained, but I have seen issues with needle & seats with >8-9 lbs.
My $.02: volume>pressure |

I found that if you some time use Viton-tipped needle that they will hold 13-lbs on the street. Hope this helps. But VintageMusclecar I found has never lead anyone incorrect. *Paul

My Pro Systems carb. requires 9 to 10 psi because of the needle and seat package that Patrick installed in it.
Late on chiming in, but very nice car.

Thanks.
The psi is indeed high. I am switching electric fuel pump and regulator this weekend hopefully.

OK, been a little while. Swapped to the electric fuel pump, regulated at 7.5 psi, the other 6.5 goes in the return line. Doing better.
Had an overheating issue last weekend in gridlock traffic. Currently have the hood off, and have carved out the opening in the back of the cowl more so it can really breathe. I also added a Spectre cold air intake setup with dual snorkels and tubes to the front radiator core, pulling cool air in from the grill, but threw the bug catcher on while the hood is off. These are a couple pics from today, after 4 days of rain we were ready to get out and stretch.
