We had it but for some unknown reason the manager pulls the starting pitcher that had only given up two hits thru 8 innings. I blame Boche for that loss. But seeing how crappy our relief pitchers are it was only a matter of time anyway. As long as somebody makes the Dodgers lose....

So Bochy is now 10-1 in elimination games but all anyone will talk about is the one he lost tonight.

Typical, Moore had thrown 120 pitches, he was spent. Maybe he could have gone further but you never know. I wouldn't be bad mouthing Bochy if I were a Giants fan. As a Cub fan I would be over the moon with three rings in that time span.

I love Bochy but our bullpen has been crap. Moore was still throwing 94-95 mph and only needed 3 more outs.

I know but facing the heart of the lineup for the fourth time is risky. He probably should have sent him out there with a short leash but hindsight is always 20/20.

He has already piched a complete game shutout with more pitches than last night. The biggest criticism of Bochy this season is how he has used the bullpen. Too much using a pitcher for one batter because of matchups. Plenty of grumblings in the bullpen because of it. This one wasn't hindsight. I think most of us there cringed when Moore did not come back out for the 9th.

That is correct Charlie. have no idea why he pulled him. The overated "pitch count."

Bochy knows now, with 20/20 hindsight, that he may have made a mistake. In an elimination game he knows you have to maybe burn-out your horse closing it out. But he also knows that you have a bullpen for a reason and maybe you preserve your horse for another day. Shoulda', coulda', woulda'. GO CUBS!
