And snakes...

Isn't that the truth. The neighbor directly across the street had a 3 foot rattler under his lawn mower last weekend.

Lucky for him, the neighbor behind me will pick up snakes of any type and take them out into the desert and release them The only snake we've had was a five foot gopher snake Read about them here!

The snake was trying to send a message....you're not supposed to have lawn mowers in AZ I have to laugh every time I stop in at Lowe's or Home Depot out there and see their lineup of large Lawn Tractors.....like, who the hell out there (other than golf courses) has so much grass that they need a riding tractor/mower

Bill - you are completely missing the point. A man is defined by the size of and attachments on his tractor. Same holds true out here in the desert. It DOESN'T matter whether there is a commensurate task at hand to take advantage of all the capabilities of the tractor. Tractors can be used for other things also. When we moved to AZ in '01, I used my '78 Gravely 4 wheel tractor with 8 speeds, 3 PTOs, and a twin 20 HP Kohler motor as leverage to convince the Mrs that we needed adequate property size to take advantage of all the features/capabilities of our tractor. It worked - or so she lets me believe so!

Hmmmmmm......I guess you could have several families of snakes living under that thing

The only additional vehicle I plan on buying when we move there is a golf cart, to be used for going back & forth to the pool

Oh no...tell me it isn't so, Bill! Not a golf cart! Buy a Polaris Ranger or Yamaha Rhino...that way, if you want to four wheel it in the desert or mountains, you can do that, too!
