Hey Joe,
Glad you replied to the SYC site and the response you got is well deserved. You and your Nova are exactly what this hobby is all about. Not many guys have the car they ordered new, dragged raced and cruised in the day when these cars ruled the streets. Your still doing it in the same car today! When was the last time you ran the Nova at the drags? Also, please put the tow brackets back on the car. Just remember who's in line for the Nova! See you at one of our hangouts. We'll never growup and thats a good thing.
Later Buddy,

Thanks for "turning me on" to this site Dave!! The last time I raced the Nova was at California Speedway in Fontana on August 30, 2003. Wow, how time flys. It seems like yesterday. Anyway, all I wanted to do was get into the 12's again. About the only thing different with the car compared with the "old days" was that I had to run it corked up. After a few runs in the low 13's, in the heat of the day, I ran a 12.93 at almost 106, after the sun went down. I was stoked to say the least. I do have a little video of that day and some old super 8mm converted to DVD of Lions drag strip. I'll work on those photos for Bruce real soon.

Bruce once again you come to southern California and create a happening. I am sorry I missed everybody but my Brother is going back to Germany this month and I was invited to a family gathering up north. I have talked to Joe many times at the two Saturday morning car shows in Orange county. Every time I see his car I have to stop and look it over for about 10 minutes. My favorite part is the tall rear tires and 8 inch wheels that he runs in back. These fill in the fenders just right and he has the stance nailed just right. It makes me appreciate just how neat a small block car can be and how fast they are when they are dialed in. It sounds like you went to the Irvine show on a great week end. There have been times when I have gone it was mostly new exotic cars with the best girl friends that money can buy. But the other show can be mostly 32 fords so you never know. That is the fun of these informal shows is that you never know what you might come across but I go every chance I get.

Mark,
Were you there with your Nova a couple of weeks ago? I would like to meet you. Let me know the next time you are going there and I'll bring my Nova. Thanks again on the other Nova your friend had for sale.

Dave, I would like to meet up and I will be contacting you. I was at the Irvine show a couple of weeks ago. The place was packed and I ended up parking along the area backing to the freeway. Did you see the small block Nova there? The guy was telling his friend that it was all original and numbers matching. I do not think this car came with an LT-1 350 from the factory or was a real SS but it had a ton of potential and looked like a well done sleeper style hot rod. I was watching your black car for awhile before you bought it but I could not step up to the seller's price. I am glad to see it stayed local and looking so good. Do you also have a couple of real nice 1969 Camaros?

BUIZILLA - I have stock size rims up front, 14"x7" with 215/70/14 BFG TA's and I had the rears made up by Stockton Wheel. They are 15"x7" with 275-60-15 BFG TA's. I wanted a tall tire for the rear because of the gearing - 4.88's
