I agree,and was hoping maybe JohnZ could shed more light on it.
Charleys plugs look like the real proof in the pudding though.

The same list is in Colvin's book, along with a list of assembly order for Tonawanda. He probably got it from Fran, and its probably from the '70s.

I believe Charley's photos more than I believe that list.

Charley, Rob is probably punishing you for backing out of the moderator job

And yes I left the sheet there. The odd thing is the sheet is fastened to the spring with a hog ring. The ring is serving no other purpose, just holding the sheet.

If you look at the opposite spring there is no hog ring at all.

Jasey...Yes the bracket looks painted with a brush and yes there is orange paint on the two bolts holding it.

Valve cover bolts and my ugly fingers. Two have defined rings around the M and two don't.

Glue on valve cover for the gasket. Ran down the side before they flipped it over and installed it.
