Hey Swiss, it appears you know a lot about these tachs. That's cool. You know how to fix them? Nobody out there is doing a great job. We've been hoping that somebody could get them right, but it's not happened yet.
If you can, I got one to send you, and I expect a lot of others will too. Do you have a deuce? Maybe you could share some pics. None of us will live long enough to know it all. |

Me, and a friend restore this Hood Tachs here in Switzerland to perfect condition.
In this case, we have all the knowledge to fix them. Nobody is reproducing hood tach parts; it’s a hard way to find them. Some time, we need up to tree old tachs to build a perfect one. I’m a collector of NOS Hood tachs and old literature; I’m still searching for some special hood tach editions, like a 10’000 RPM Balkamp. Here a picture from my friend’s collection: ![]() No I don’t own a deuce, sorry, only a real AAR Cuda and a Challenger TA. Show me please your tach by PM. Pat |

I will bet those tachs run like Swiss Watches! (Sorry couldn't resist).
Seriously though, your work looks beautiful and I'm sure functions just as well. Glad to have you on the forum.

Swiss, the above pic is the same as mine. I'm an original deuce owner. Many of us have looked for someone to fix these tachs as they do go bad for some reason. I don't know what makes them work, but would think that what was available 40+ years ago could be fixed with either the same parts, or something a little better while retaining as much originallity as possible.
If you believe that you can repair these deuce tachs and keep them as original as possible, post your mailing address. I believe you will have some business. And hey, the T/A Mopars are cool, just not as fast as deuces. (big smile) |

Hi folks
Many thanks for all your feedbacks. Yes, our tachs are working like Swiss Watches. If somebody wants a perfect Hood Tachometer restoration, please send full picture documentation. Also from the inside to: dixco@gmx.ch We will let you know, how big is the parts search and restoration work. In other words, we give you our opinion, if a restoration is practicable or not. Here a picture from a full restored ultra-rare Dixco HT/x – 977 from 1972. ![]() ![]() Thanks Pat PS: I agree, nothing is faster than a Deuce. Have fun!!! |

I didn't get any pics. They were all forbidden/removed. Need to get them in an e mail file somehow so I can run it off on my copier.
