And speak of the devil...my old 71 ragtop (Steve Juliano's) is up for sale again next week in Monterey! OMG and they put the original top down for photos! Steve never ever did that for fear of wrinkling it! LOL
Will one of you please buy this car so I can reunite it with the photo album, please. https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0822-52...a-convertible/ Last edited by njsteve; 08-13-2022 at 01:22 AM. |

"I still have all the restoration photo albums from my cars, including the yellow 71 hemicuda ragtop along with an extra, mint broadcast sheet, but the current caretakers of that car don't want them so I am on the verge of just throwing them up on ebay or something since they would only get thrown away one day when I'm gone. The same thing with the albums for the Steve Juliano 71 ragtop, the '71 Cuda hemi orange/billboard 440+6 4-speed ragtop and various hemi chargers, etc.
From my personal experience, sometimes the current car owners can be interesting people to deal with especially if they (or the people in charge of taking care of their collection) don't see the value in anything other than the car itself or they see everyone who contacts them as trying to take advantage of them somehow" .........The Brother's will gladly match that BLT, Shake and even throw in round trip air fare to come visit the yellow Cuda convert in exchange for the restoration photos and the build sheet.

I guesss you could say I held the original ZL -1 motor from car 34 in hostage for over ten years. I found the motor at summer carlisle and a few years later, after finding the VIN by the oil filter, I realized it was from a real car.
The day the owner of the car found me, he offered me 10k and another block. I asked how much he wanted for the car ! I never gave him a price on the block and he did not give me a price on the car. We became friends and I even visited the car in primer a few times over the years. It was a few hours away. He called me out of the blue one Friday and gave me until Monday to buy the car?If not, he had a cash buyer. I literally cashed in all my change and rolled pennies over the weekend. When I sold the car, the new owner took all colored copies of the original Gibb paperwork, shipper, etc. that I had framed. A week later I realized that I never even showed him the original paperwork. I could have kept it all, but I sent it all to him. I felt lucky to be carekeeper of such a car for many years and did not feel right to keep the docs. I still have time slips, and some other goodies and the Jerry M cert for the last production dated 67 Z known. Buyer never took them . Will send to current owner free of charge . |
