Bill, nice picture, but that is when is was being ran by Jim Little, not Fred Gibb. In conversations with Kim, who has done a TON of research on the car, including removing old paint layer by later, there is a good possiblilty that the car was repainted after Fred bought the car, done to remove Jim Little from the rear quarters and Stott from the front fenders. Regardless of color, a part of racing history and a BAD ASS car.

The goal of the sYc is to preserve and promote the supercars, which includes the builders and tuners of those cars. Dick did accomplish a lot in his brief career, but until a few years ago, had kind of been forgotten. But because of such folks as Brian and Kim, the sYc has been able to help get Dick get the recoginition he deserves. This effort was jump started when the special guests at SCR3 were Valerie Harrell and her son Michael.

As per the jack stands remark, you needed to have been at the banquet during SCR6 to fully understand that, as Kim and Joel "Mr. Motion" Rosen had a interesting discussion about this.

Bill you should re-read BKH's post....bringing back cars is pretty damn respectable if you ask me.Especially significant race cars. If the color is not exactly the way you think it should be...thats your issue. No need to dis the car. The whole jackstand issue sounds kind of like the whole Mr Helen thing from a while back. You had to be there to get it I guess.

Kim I also saw the car at SCR7 and I thought it was cool! Really can't wait to hear it run.

Just out of curiosity why is the car more of a purple than red? Was that the original color of the car?

Does anyone know where Stott Chevrolet is?
There is a Stott dealership in Tryon NC is a Ford dealer now was a Chevrolet dealer in the Early 70's My brother's 73 Z-28 was bought new there.
Howie emailed me and said that his car was originally sent to a Chevrolet dealer in Greenville SC. and I was wondering if maybe it was transferred to the dealership in Tryon(30 miles away)

Frank I will try to explained how this color was used. I found four areas on this car with this color. The trunk lid under the spoiler both bottoms of the rocker and the the area between the trunk lid and rear glass atth. photo of trunk lid. I masked this off, and this paint is still on the trunk lid today.

Frank these two pictures were taken the day after the SCR. As I have said before I didn't have any outside pictures of my car. Please note the orginial paint and the new paint very close IMO. There is where I came up with the color. This what I went with. I also talked to Herb Fox about the color and he said the car was very close. What can I say
