I think a Chicago theme feature would be a great idea if Mopars are allowed maybe I could also bring along the Mr Norms six pack Challenger.

Lots of Mopars in HW. Bernardi was one of the "older" fast guys. That Demon ran a healthy 440 when I had my '69 Camaro. Sounds like we are close to the same time frame, what was your ride? The Bertucci Brothers and a few of my other associates all worked for Bill at Del Rio. P.S. who are you and where did you live? [/ QUOTE ] Lived on Old Elm Rd. a couple houses up from the Mobil Station (worked there, too) and the base. When Ray had the Demon, I had a '67 Vette Roadster w/an LS-7 crate (from Shepard), 4:11's (courtesy 'o Karz by Mark) and a set of Americans off an old L-88 Vette from same. Was dark blue, small flares, L-88 hood, no front bumper. Ray was a caravan regular to the CC Nats. Don't recall Bertucci bros during my Del Rio stint. Waddy was still around at the time ('76). |

How many other Fencl Tufo Deuces are around besides Engler's, and Hornbeck's? [/ QUOTE ] Ken there are four Fencl Tufo Deuces surviving. The two you mentioned and one that has yet to be seen by one of us. John D of IL has owned a Gobi Beige Fencl Tufo Deuce since 1976. The car retains it's original paint but has been stripeless since it's early days. The other surviving Deuce is a Hugger Orange car that is currently under resto by it's owner Johnny M in OH. I talked to him a month ago and he is making progress. Pics to follow. The two remaining of the six Fencl Tufo Deuces are a Sunflower Yellow car that was totaled in the 70's and the Fencl Tufo race car The Draggin Deuce which is still MIA. I have the original paperwork on this car but have not been able to make any good of the leads that I have received as of yet. Sorenson Chevrolet in Waukeegan, IL and Mancuso Chevrolet in Skokie, IL both sold three Deuces new, NONE of which have been found so far.

I'd love to see that gobi beige deuce, been talking to the owner for years - but nary a pic
![]() The orange deuce was in the same Hemmings issue as my car back in '96, was owned at the time by the art dealer/benz dealer that all you chi-town guys seem to know. That car has it's POP, and was sold new to a guy in Carpentersville, IL - is that close to F-Tufo? The S-Yellow car was actually a repo, then involved in several accidents, with the final one a major T-bone where it was totalled - bummer. One of the Mancuso Deuces is indeed found, still with it's original owner. It was a race car early on, and would carry the front wheels! Now, it's been semi-restored back to stock, cool car.

I was looking at a low mile Hugger Orange 69 Z that they had in the showroom. When I pulled up I saw the Deuce sitting in back of the building. I asked about it and was told it was already spoken for. C'ville is probably about 40 minutes from Tufo...

That's right about the Schmidt car. Says "little DEUCE coupe" on the hood. Robert's a very nice guy. Has some interesting stories.
