Well, the market sets the prices and I’d also love for the market to go back to 1990s prices, although I don’t see that happening anytime soon if ever.

I definitely agree that the car show culture is generally a dim spot for the hobby. I am in no way a “young” guy at 42, but I still get the “you weren’t there so you don’t know how it was” BS that would probably turn away a kid who was just getting into the hobby.

You are correct though; your knowledge and appreciation for the muscle cars PROVES you did NOT have to be there to appreciate the real muscle car culture.

The problem with "market value" is when these cars became "investment" material 20 or so years ago. To me, that killed it for a lot of people and, sorry if I step on toes here, but Barret Jackson is the WORST thing to ever hit this "hobby" with it's millionaires bidding prices to insanity just because they HAVE to win.
