Lemans Blue 1968 Camaro SS/RS 396 with CE L89
I don’t recall seeing any discussion about this undocumented 1968 Camaro SS/RS 396 that still wears most of its original Lemans Blue paint, original interior and has a replacement L89 under the hood. It’s being represented as having only 16k original miles. Appears to be a really nice car, as far as the paint and interior are concerned. Looks to me like it’s been fluffed a little on the underside? I’d like to see more photos of under the hood, specifically the trim tag, engine casting number and deck stamp. Might be a fun ride. What’s a car like this worth with the L89 und the hood? Bidding is currently at $46,600 and the auction is ending in just over an hour.
Surprising, with such low mileage and wearing original paint, that it doesn’t have a dealer emblem? Maybe that was tossed when they added the spoiler? I’d sure like to order the NCRS information on this car to see what dealer sold it new. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/133391677208

Ad says ,unfortunately there is no documentation for the mileage. I think id be worried more about the documentation for the L89 claim.

I see it’s missing the disc brake indicator on the brake pedal. I have my doubts that it’s an original spoiler car as well. I’m sure some of you could point out dozens of issues to be wary of.

I'm no '68 expert but I believe the disc brake pedal pad was a mid-year addition.

Power drum brakes? I see drums on the front not disks.

I think Helmut was going off that it has a disc brake style master.?. I never opened the link.
Edit: after reading the description it says its original paint... Then goes on to say paint was measured on quarters.. "Original hockey stripe, hideaway headlights are in good working condition and are considered factory original components. Beautiful original paint, original chrome bumpers, glass including the windshield, bright work, stainless emblems, grille, headlight surrounds, side marker light and rear tail light bezels are original and rear back up lights work fine. 14” Rally wheels with redline tires, M21 close ratio transmission, and 12 bolt 3.55 Posi. Paint work on right rear quarter and lower left hand quarter panel only where the paint was measured with a digital paint meter, reading 4.5 to 5.5 milli thousand." 396 Emblems don't look right compared to an original paint survivor.
