Lemans Blue 1969 Camaro 350 4-speed survivor
This Camaro looks very original and unmolested. It still wears its original factory Lemans Blue paint (with apparently no rust) and equipped with a 350 4-speed which, if I read the very brief description correctly, says the drivetrain is original and documented by the POP. I’d like to see the POP and engine stamp. Might it be an LM1 350?
It’s an early 10E assembled car, and has the forward angled headrests. When did that change over from the vertical headrests? Lots to like about this (dare I say it) survivor.... just the way I like ‘em. Starting bid is $35k with no bids yet. I think he’s a little ambitious on the price, compared to his lack of ambition on the dim photos and description. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/324152021161

It's an X11 car, so must be late '69 MY (10E of 1969).

10E of 69 so Too late for LM1. Looks like an L65 350, non SS.

I was thinking October of ‘68... never even thought about it being October of ‘69. That explains a few things. Thanks. Any way to tell without seeing the VIN? I suppose the body sequence number on the trim tag would give an indication, but anything else?

X codes were not used until December of 1968 if I recall, so it would have to be a late 69 car.

Few other things that could hint at 1969 rather than 1968 - the curved headrest posts (as you spotted), A, B or C suffix to trans stamp if a Muncie 4-Spd, block casting number (a 350 that late would be a 3970010 block) if original to car, other dated components like alternator, VR, distributor etc. Wheel codes might also be a clue. But not much to go off if you can't see it up close!

Yeah, I with all that information, first thing I’d look at would be the VIN. I’m surprised that the trim tag has a ST 69 on it, and not a ST 70?

My LB car is a 10E trim tag as well. This body # is lower (prior) than mine and likely from the last week of October. My car would have been built early in the following week November 3/4 and VIN is in the 708XXX range. It was built in the days just preceding the plant shutdown at Norwood and is also ST69.
I heard there were a few export cars built at the end of that week with ST70 tags but as far as I know, there are only a couple known to be that way.

The Caracas plant built a few late 69's with a 70 VIN - may be that is what you are thinking....

That was probably it Kurt. Someone had posted some info on it before and I think had a record of one or maybe two.
