Default 124379L528650 - Z/28 Barrett Jackson

Took a look at this car in person today. I’m no expert, but this cowl tag is not original, right?

I don't know about the tag but Daytona yellow always had black striping no matter the top or interior color...Joe

Yeah, they specifically said that during the restoration the decision was made to paint the stripes white to match the vinyl top. They were originally black.

That tag is a repop tag for sure and I wont say why buit whoever made it up doesn't know something about this build period at VanNuys.

Those are also not factory rivets

This car retains its original hidden VIN tag, VIN cowl stamping and trim tag. This car was built on the third week of April 1969 at the Los Angeles factory with the following options: 76-E - Daytona Yellow with black stripes,
Thats funny the VIN does not fall in the 04C week at VanNuys either.

I would like to see the McNeish report as I cant believe any of this passed if he did look at it.

Agree. The ad acknowledges that fact: "Also during the restoration the decision was made to change the color of the stripes from black to white, which looks amazing."

FWIW, I have an LA-built car with VIN sequence ~230 before this car. Tag is 04A and NCRS Shipper Report states official production date is April 3.
Based on LA production output the car with that VIN should have come off the line 1-2 days after mine did.
Also not liking that trim tag, very interested to know what CHP report noted about the car.
