Default Golden Anniversary Impala

It was my understanding the Golden Anniversary Impala was a 1962 model commemorating the 50 years of Chevrolet not the 50 millionth Chevrolet made. Growing up as a kid, a friend of the family's ordered a 1962 Impala SS with a 409 and it was in 50th anniversary Gold. He always made a Big Deal about the "Special Color' because he owned a Body Shop and thought is was a unique car and color. I came across this in Hemmings:

I am by no means an expert, I'm just trying to learn here. Bill

I have a picture of one at the "run to the Sun" in 2018. Never heard of it in Canada. I talked to the owner and he said it was the Golden Anniversary model...

Interesting timing on this thread - see below link to Vernes' AG 63 on BaT

There's an absolutely amazing 1962 Impala Anniversary Gold Survivor 409/409 in the southwest Chicago suburbs that gets out occasionally.

That looks like a really nice paint job there.

I'd wager they spent a little more time rubbing on that one than the car behind it.

Oh yes... "show quality paint" specified on that unit for sure.
