This highly decorated and coveted 1964 Chevrolet Corvette 327/365 Convertible was inspected by Corvette expert Roy Sinor in December of 2023. This car retains its original VIN tag, original Trim Tag, original color combination and original drivetrain. This example is one of only 7,171 built with the “L76” 327/365 option in both coupes and convertibles in 1964. As the NCRS Shipping Data Report indicates the GM Official Production Date was May 25th, 1964. The original selling dealer was Fort Donelson Motor Company located in Dover, Indiana. It’s achieved many prestigious certifications and awards which include Bloomington Gold “Gold Certification”, NCRS “Top Flight”, NCRS “Performance Verification Award”, NCRS “Duntov Mark of Excellence Award” and Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals “Triple Diamond Certification”. The NCRS letter for Duntov Mark of Excellence, judging sheets and awards are included. These achievements are an indication this car was accurately and correctly restored to high standards throughout. The exterior of this C2 presents beautifully with its sporty design and stunning color combination. The flip-up headlights, fender vents and quad tail lamps are just a few of the features. The body is very straight with excellent panel fitment. It’s been refinished in its original color of Riverside Red which dresses it well. The paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine. The red color is complemented with a new white vinyl soft top which fits nicely. The front and side glass is in excellent condition throughout. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced such as the glass trim, driver’s side mirror, front bumpers, door handles, lower rocker moldings, antenna, rear bumpers, gas filler cap and emblems. The car sits on 15” wheels with spinner hub caps. The wheels are wrapped with Firestone Deluxe Champion 6.70x15 whitewall tires. The interior of this C2 also presents beautifully with its sporty design. It’s been refinished in its original color of Red which looks beautiful. The cabin features a stylish dash, bucket seats and console. The three-spoke walnut grained plastic steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage and fuel level. Appointments include an AM/FM radio, a heater, an analog clock and lap belts. The new red carpeting was outfitted with new red carpeted floor mats. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. The firewall and inner fenders were refinished in the correct shade of black. It’s powered by the original matching-numbers 327 V8 engine that was factory rated with 365hp. The engine was completely rebuilt and performs excellent. The engine was dressed with the correct finned valve covers and chrome air cleaner. The engine is coupled to the original matching-numbers 4-speed manual transmission. The transmission was also rebuilt and shifts smoothly. The undercarriage is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums. This car was recently serviced and detailed. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
