Cool news and I was waiting/hoping some known also member cars would click! I'll look up the ad you need Wade also may have it already saved as there's a half dozen Cuda ragtop ads in the cache of stuff I haven't posted yet. I can't save here @ work but looking quickly, I see a Jan '74 ad w/ no mileage/price but there is a '73 ad w/ 5600 miles so seller may be the original owner? He's definitely a car guy as he has other vehicle listings too also a GoCart and Honda bike plus commercial real estate ads w/ the same # and call Maureen...maybe his wife? Unless some else does first, I'll post the ads I have and see later tonight. Best of luck backtracking the car! ~ Pete </div></div> Awesome! Very neat stuff Pete, thanks again. And yes sir Shaun, this is the red one, sold new out of Bill Luke Chrysler Plymouth of Phoenix. Assuming I did this attachment right here's a picture of the car from this same mid-70's era, wearing its AZ plates 'PTE-971' (in fact it still wears these original plates today). Thanks! - Wade |

Re: Old Newspaper Ads
That Cuda is fantastic, esp in it's spectacular mid-70's attire.

Thanks Mark! Looks like that's what you got for 2900 bucks back in '75. Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread with my enthusiasm, but with Pete's followup I did some more digging and I do think Maureen is the wife. According to the old paperwork I got with the car, in Feb-1973 the 'Cuda was owned by a Bob Graham (at least the 2nd owner), and a quick search shows that Bob's wife was/is Maureen. So timing-wise this all makes sense, these must be Bob's ads and old ph#. In Oct-75 Bob sold the car to his brother Bill (whom I've had the pleasure of speaking with years ago), so it looks like Bob was unsuccessful at selling his car 6 months earlier for the $2900. Ugh! A year later it was bought by a longterm owner, who literally socked the car away for the next 30 years. One other neat piece of info is the mileage. The ad Pete posted from April 1975 mentioned 20,100 miles. When the car came out of hibernation in 2005 it had 20,535 miles. Interesting that it was used so little during those years, and it is very cool that Bob chose to post the mileage in his ads. Gives me a much greater understanding of my car's history. Again, much thanks Pete and All!!! - Wade |

Re: Old Newspaper Ads
Wade, I was in high school when this came up for sale and a good friend of mine went to look at it, It was on 20th St. south of Indian School Rd. at a small house with extra parts laid out on the lawn, (shaker parts etc.) he went for a ride expecting the owner to "get on it" but never did. I frequently saw the car around town, couldn't miss the velocity stacks. My friend still remembers clearly that day like it was yesterday.

That is so cool Shaun, thanks for sharing. And thanks to sYc and all, I agree, this has been a very fortunate connection, I can't thank Pete enough. Keep 'em coming Pete, I'm sure others will find a connection as well. - Wade |
