Default ZL1 blocks

Hi all. First post. Did they stamp the VIN# on the original ZL1 blocks?

Thanks.

Yes, the ZL-1 Camaros had partial VIN stamped into side of block near the oil filter.

Thanks. What format was it? Have seen a block with the # 986** and a B on the end. Has omitted the 2 last # if this is a original Vin stamp. I do not know. Any info?

The original block from my number 34 ZL1 had letter and number 9N then the last 6 digits of the VIN are stamped vertically on the cast part of the block near the oil filter.. I’ve seen the VIN stamped on the front pad also on other original block

Could any of the # 's I posted be related to any VIN#?

Any value to this block?

Thanks

Those numbers are not a VIN. They made various configurations of the ZL1 blocks. For example over the counter, tall deck, etc,

Depending on casting numbers and the configuration, the value would be different. Condition is obviously a huge factor also.

I sent you you PM, maybe I can shed some light.
