Thanks Jeff. Appreciate that buddy.

Here's a few more pics as today continues on toward the finish line.

Lower base installed and torqued down.

Those would be some nice original M bolts I got from Sam Scardino

And those would be a super clean pair of original 4295 Crossram carbs.

Looking really good. Don't forget to flip your valve covers!

Thanks Darrell.

Covers just got swapped around while put on as dust covers in those pictures. They'll be swapped around when installed.

First I have to mill down the side rails to they can come on an off properly.

Added

Just noticed they were also backwards on the run stand as well. I didn't even notice they went on like that at the machine shop and have been sitting there like that for months.

Was out in the shop last night trying to decide on what breathers to run. I can't fit velocity stacks under the stock hood and thought I'd see how the low profile crossram breather would look if I got the narrow base, but BLAH. I don't like all that elongated chrome atop this particular engine.

Quest is now on to find a pair of clean looking 9" filters. The K&N 60-1070 would fit the drivers side while the 60-1110 offers an inlet so I could add a vent hose from the passenger side valve cover? Gotta find something in the next few days or it's another rush air shipment from Summit. I'm trying to find something decent looking but options for 9" breathers are pretty limited. K&N has the best shaped tops but that embossed logo isn't period correct either. The hunt continues.

Could you color match the elongated chrome cover to the engine block / headers? That might give it quite the look...

Call me crazy, but you could always run the velocity stacks and no hood! Certainly fits with Day II to me!

Yes...no hood is definitely an option. Not a bad idea and your suggestion might just be the ticket for this one. Thanks Steve

I ran these cheapies from speedway with my stock SS hood they will fit. The rear carb I bent the lower flange down some and it didn't rub the hood at all. I'll look for a picture with the stock hood. I believe the stock breather with the thin element will work also I'm running the tall one now with the stinger hood.

Those look good on there. I checked to see what I could find local and nothing for small 9" round breather.

I did find a couple Mr Gasket velocity stacks local to me so that's what I'll use for this show as it's next week.

Glad you and outlawperformance is helping to put the 68-72 nova back into the limelight. Both cars are killer and you guys do great work! Throw M Spotts and his boys in this thread and we are golden.

I love the Spotts Boys Nova as well. It's finished up real nice!!!

And the breathers are settled on for now. It'll hit the show w/o the hood and the velocity stacks actually look like they belong there. I think it gives the Crossram more of a Day II look than most other breather options, and on this particular car I think it rounds it out really well.

A little extra Greaser mode injected under the hood!

Headed out to install the M22 and cut the hole for the shifter now. More on that tonight.
