Default Couple of Technical Questions

Subject: '70 Camaro Z28 w/ gauges

1) Temp Gage, was O/H & calibrated w/face & needle restoration. (Worked perfect prior)
reads full hot (250) after coolant warms. (has 180 therm. in it)
installed another gage old but working, reads barely (120) after coolant @ operating temp.
both gage resistors read 87-90 ohms. Could it be the needle on the rebuilt gage was clocked
wrong & the older Camaro gage was set up with different sender?

2) Amp meter pulses when engine running. (with the frequency like a turn signal blinking)
engine RPM no effect different.
Charges fine, new battery, alt. belt tight.
(Voltage Regulator??) OR newly O/H gage again??

Entire Gage cluster was sent out for complete restoration, NOT happy with results as I will explain in another post.

Thanks to you guys who might help before I start shot-gunning these problems.
DH
