wow, good stuff William. Too bad that 1968 car ending in 427427 didn't actually have a 427

The Corvette Order form is most interesting. Appears similar to the tank sticker but has an area where the drivetrain codes were typed for the POP. Also, the last 6 digits of the VIN were hand-written, then typed. 'Date Produced' is also typed and it would be interesting to see if it agreed with NCRS data.
A bud ran this ad in a Corvette publication many years ago. Even though several of these VINs have current registration, crickets. Yup, too bad about S427427. |

That form is the one I call the #7 form as that number is in the upper right hand corner. We can officially tie that to the VIN of those cars. In reality it is better than a window sticker since the Warranty Plate info and key codes are included. The information will most certainly agree with NCRS data. I've seen a few of those in the Corvette document validation process.

I assume these come from a dealer or are they GM docs? Just curious...

Yes, Martz Chevrolet Menomonee Falls, WI.
Also have copies of all their 67-69 Camaro Car Shippers. Owner kept the originals. |
