Darren, very cool. I bet you never imagined something like that would happen. I am sure it made both of your days. Very cool!

Talking to Mr. Gjovik was a hoot. He was telling me that when the Camaros first came out he thought they would fail cause they were too small.

Now my next battle is trying to get him to honor his offer to search his archives to find pictures of the dealership from 1969. He says he has them and my car did sit on the showroom floor. Hope he doesn't find them I am trying to keep a lid on the fact that my car is really a 6 banger.

I love this kind of stuff. Looking forward to the SCR in hopes that some of you bring along some of your small items of memorabilia and related Supercar promotional items and what not. It's always cool finding something from your collector car's selling dealership. Here are a few neat items I was fortunate enough to turn up from Rosenthal Chevrolet, in Arlington, VA the original selling dealer of my '70 Chevelle. Turns out they sold at least one ZL-1 as well. Please folks, if you have any items like these, bring them along to the SCR with your cars and share them with us all. I think everyone gets a kick out of seeing some of this stuff alongside the cars. I know I sure do.

Yes Rick I still have the car, but it's just a home-built driver, no numbers to crunch here. Not really SCR material. I'm more into it because it's my first car, I restored it entirely at home, and I've had it for nearly 11 years now. It constantly gets little updates that make it more enjoyable for me. Last summer it was a set of vintage American wheels and an original '70 C.I. air cleaner. This summer it was a new 3.31 posi, F-41 rear bar and a set of air lift bags. Just got it all put together and on the road this weekend actually, and in the 11 years of owning it, the one thing I've never done with it is tested it at the track. The way the new air lift setup makes it plant and go, I'm thinking it may be time to visit the new & improved Pittsburgh Raceway Park. All of this smack talkin' between Marlin and Frankie has got me itchin' to go to the drags too.
