I don't remember much about the one I saw. I was actually at the shop attending to my own stuff and didn't get to pay as much attention to the cobra as I would have liked. I don't even remember the name of the shop anymore.

They just happened to have it on the chassis dyno when I stopped in.
I remember the cobra was a dark red color, and had a hard top on it which I thought was odd at the time, slicks on the back and skinnies up front. Had some verbiage on the doors and was a 427. I do recall they were disappointed with the dyno numbers. It had the appearance of just being pulled out of long time storage. I was told it was an original 427 Dragonsnake cobra.

At that time period I was more familiar with them in SCCA and to see one back then originally setup for the dragstrip was odd to me.

This looks like the car you have described, but it is a Norwood build and not originally black.

I think that CSX2093 is a 289 car?

I dont think thats the car hes talking about

124379N642448

That car appears to have had a color change from when it appeared at BJ in 2006, it was White with Black stripes and Black Standard interior.

Then 6 years later it shows up at Mecum and its Black with white stripes and Houndstooth interior.

Strange someone repaints it a non-original color and puts in a non-original interior after it was already restored and sold for $236K and then it sells for less than half that amount.

While the black is certainly a rare color, you don't see too many white ones either. The white looks pretty good IMO.

This Z was bought by Dana from Lee smith, Lee had this and a yellow open headlight z jl8 crossram. I bought the yellow one. Both sold at Mecum Kissimmee 2006 I think it was. His sold for 115k mine 145k. Then month later see the white one sell for quarter mill wanted to hurt myself lol. A lawer, big collector in Dallas bought it from Barrett. Guess he didn't like the white !

236K???!!! For a '69 Z28??!! That's gotta be a world record price. Especially for a car without a shred of documentation and a bunch of added options?
