Default GM 3919842 heads value?

i have a pair of GM 3919842 heads dated 8/18/68 and 8/24/68 they are not cracked they do need a rebuild. they do have minor porting done but nothing major just mainly a smooth up job on both intake and exhaust. no repairs that i noticed. im considering selling if valuable but if not im building a 396/375 to put in my truck ill use them on it. just trying to get some opinions on value to decide weather or not to use them. thanks cody.

From what I've seen in the last 6 years.... these have come way down. And not an easy sale like they once were.
I had a Virgin set similar in dates. That were 8,000 mile Take offs. decades ago. ...
Freshened up with Comp Cams premium SS valves & Spring kit.....Never Cut heads.
I had them for sale off n on for 5+ years starting off at $3,200..then 2,900. Then 2,500...2,200.
Finally sold them in a package of other BB stuff
Netted around 1900 for the matched set.
69 Heads I sold for about 400 more and could have sold 5 sets or more......69 vs 68. Big $$$ difference.
$1,000 to 1,200 is what I feel...as they probably need more than you think.....as always....

It doesnt matter what people are asking go to completed items and see what they get.

It seems like you've followed the prices and have sold similar in the past, we should probably ask YOU what they are worth //!

I SAW THAT ONE AS WELL, THE ONLY WAY POSSIBLE THAT HEAD IS EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE TO THAT IS IF YOU ALSO HAD A SINGLE AND PAIRED IT UP. Even then a set of service 842 nos heads are worth around 3500-4000 TOPS

Chuck & Young,
my info and estimated value was Dead On.
Except one thing..... reading his question, ....
My brain read 840 heads....my eyes read 842...duh.
My apologies for misinterpenting the casting #'s.
...I do get blurred vision at times...lol.

Antime you need values, sure, just ask.....if the #'s are right......Hummmmm ?
Have a good day
Regards,
Tom
