Default What premium for a rust free body?

Well, I sold my '70 Nova last spring and have been casually looking for a replacement since. I'm leaning towards finding a dry western car and having it shipped East. I by chance ran across one that came from New Mexico that is 230 miles from me. Although I haven't seen it in person the seller has send me numerous pictures and it looks virtually rust free. The problem is that it is completely disassembled and on a rotisserie, and when I say completely torn apart I mean it.

I think the sellers pool of buyers is small due to that fact. What premium does one place on starting with a rust free shell? I was lurking for a nice driver V-8 car with decent paint that may need some patches work and paint as time went on but this is tempting me, too much possibly. Thoughts, opinions? Thanks, Troy

I have always looked at the cost of panels and the time to replace them and how much time you save by not needing to replace panels or tools needed to replace the panels. At least 5k would be a reasonable start

Unless you know the car or who did the work, a stripped car like this can be a good way to buy as you can see what you are getting and oversee the quality of the work. But, be prepared for some headaches and a lot of time. Most of my headaches are from having others do work, like paint, that I do not have experience and they never seem to listen or do as you ask, it seems has been my experience.
On the other hand, a car that is done or needs little, you can enjoy. As long as you know the car's history of what is under the shiny part, you are good to go. Many detailed restos have many pics of what was started with. Life is short! Decide if you enjoy driving and having fun or do you like to piddle around the shop always being asked by your buddies, "When is that thing going to be finished?"

I never trust a car that is in primer. Also it mentions quarters were replaced......I trust few people with doing quarters properly as well.
I like a car "as found" so you can really see everything beforehand.
All that being said....at least the price is low enough to roll the dice.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Benny I just about PM'ed you earlier. Didn't you just score a '68-72' Nova body? Any scraps that you passed on that were fairly priced?

Troy, I would definetly contact Brent Johnson on this Site. He has a few to choose from and also Tom Williams (Wilma) as he may be able to help also.
BBBenny may have something too. Not sure if he sold his 69 L78 yet or not.
