Aftermarket fenders. Simply made that way. Seems like the aftermarket SELDOM gets anything right.

They can be made to fit, or at least that's what I hear. Never had to do so myself.

For the novice...how do you tell which way is right side up for SS emblems for grill and sides?

My 12C BB 69 had the vin Derivative on the rough casting not on the pad.

I figured this car would eventually get on here.
This is the car I was interested in and reached out to Greg Nugent to see if we could take a look at it.
It was on Pikesville Kentucky and I could have bought it for $45,000. The thing that scared me the most was it had a salvage title. I contacted that dealer when I saw it up for sale and he told me it had a clear title.

Pad is a mess but looks like you can see modern broach marks on it
