Default 30k-mile '72 Malibu, Original Paint

Another clean Malibu for your viewing pleasure. No one's favorite color combo, to be sure, but it's been nicely preserved over the years.

I would take that color combo over green/green any day. And the wheels are a welcome addition over those plain jane covers, but the tires need to be reversed. Agree the white letters just look out of place on that model.

Odd that is seems to have been ordered with a TH400 behind the 307. Maybe used as a tow car for camping ? No hitch now, but plenty of halfazzed fluff painting underneath.

The trunk has, clearly, been recoated and the floor looks odd too, no drain holes at the front, although they appear to be there on the under side.
It does appear to be a very nice car, but I would still want better pics of the underside or put eyes on it. Too much fluffing to trust the description.

Yep, needs eyeballs on the scene also agree 307 w/ T-400 indeed strange but M40 on BS, seller ad notes T-350 and no underside pics so unconfirmed what's actually there now?
Love to see more of seller's background projects, 67/68 Impala + 55-59 PU + 35'ish PU, not so much the '73 Monte or '77 Chevelle although '78 up Malibu may be interesting also Sporty bike looks like it may be a kid's toy?

Regarding the automatic trans, I think the code on the window sticker is not always accurate....It is undoubtedly a T350.

And I thought that when the RPO Code was M40, it was always a TH400, wasn't a TH350 a M35 (sometimes a M37) RPO Code?

And that may be the case, since the hand written order does not specify an M40... OR the person at the factory entered M40 on the build ticket ?? Without further information, or pics, we may never know.

Anyone have an order book with the cost of each turbo trans ? That might shed a little light on which cost the $210 addition, but mistakes were made all the time.
