Mecum Berger COPO
Does anyone know anything about the Berger COPO that sold at the mecum auction. I was told it sold for $274,000 plus commission and was just a single copo

The Broadcast sheet with the car is a fabrication. It has too many errors to point out and besides why inform the fraudsters.
The production date on the car is 9/23 and the sale date is 9/25... is that even possible? The car was discussed on the CRG a couple of months back, I commented at that time the paper was fake.

If it was a real Berger COPO would that price be a fair price? It seems if you figure in the fees it probably sold for about $325,000

That would probably be a record price by a good bit for a Berger 9561.

Maybe at public auction, but back when COPOs were peaking and more than Hemi Cudas more than one was sold for $300,000.00.

I believe there might be buyers fees in that price?

I thought that I was keeping pretty good records on these cars. The car in question is a “maybe” 9561 (single copo), non RS, copo with no race pedigree that has been restored (non-survivor). I don’t have any record of a car like this approaching anywhere near the price that the buyer paid. Not trying to argue - just don’t want anyone who follows this site to be misled on values. Is there data that supports the price paid for this car anywhere? I’m open to correction.

They were private party transactions so you will not find a public record. Not everything is on the internet. I was referring to the selling price of Berger Double COPOs.
I can’t speak to the Silver Mecum Camaro other than what has been discussed here. I have only seen that car on line. I would never intentionally mislead anyone and my information is based on my first hand experience. Many might be surprised at what some super cars and or COPOs have traded hands for privately. |
